Robert Frost
I recently brought home a book,
One that belonged to a friend,
A book of poems, by Robert Frost,
A man, I am told, who is one of the best!
His poems, I hear, are famed worldwide,
And I can't say that I'm very surprised.
This book that I was intending to read,
The one that I gave up on halfway through,
If this in an example of,
The very best, the cream of the cream,
Then, I must say, I am sorely outclassed.
Frost's poems remind me of my epic poems,
In fact, almost alike,
But that isn't what I write most of the time,
I just make this little poem here,
And a little one there,
And Frost?
He has a story,
In poem form, yes,
It rimes, too.
Others assure me,
That my poems are great,
That they are the best things in the world.
That is just what they say,
Still, I like my poems,
And when I write for people,
The people do, too.Link back to my list of Stories
