Abu Dhabi) Belarus Minotor-Servise Unitary Enterprise unveiled 2T Stalker
stealth combat reconnaissance vehicle at the IDEX 2001. This vehicle
has adopted brand new design, and stealth effect can be achieved by
coating stealth materials on the surface of vehicle, a paint that has
special functions of anti-radar and resistance IR reflection. The body
features a decreasing radar reflection for its design of avoiding acute
angles as much as possible. Other features include a weight of 27.4
tons, a maximum speed of 95 km per hour, a maximum fuel range of 1000
kg, and a crew of three. In the first two days of IDEX, Stalker staged
its cross-country demonstration and displayed its outstanding automotive
mobility.
This vehicle is designed
with two retractable weapon supports mounted on top, which can prop
up automatically in case of combat. Outfitted on the right support are
two ATMs and two Igra air defense missiles are laid upon the left support.
Moreover, one 30mm cannon gun and one 7.62mm co-axial machine gun are
allocated. Although only one prototype has been successfully made, Belarus
Army has already arranged to be armed with the first 30 2T Stalkers.
Its chassis design is basically similar to the part of 2S6 Tunguska.
Minotor-Servise Unitary Enterprise is also the designer of the chassis
for 2S6 Tunguska gun/missile combination system. The source from the
same company informed Kanwa reporter that several sets of 2S6 chassis
system had been sold to China (Kanwa has related reports on its web
site). Besides the above listed equipment and weapons, 2T Stalker vehicles
have day/night thermal sighting system and laser rangefinder installed
