Before the surgery, Willow had green "stilts" to keep the bones immobilized.  We kept her wrapped in a towel most of the time because the pain medication messed with her body's ability to regulate her temperature.  Hypothermia was something to be guarded against.

She spends a lot of time looking pathetic under the best of circumstances; it's practically a full-time occupation now that she has a couple of broken legs to deal with.

All things considered, she's adapted pretty well.  In 24 hours, she learned to get around (to an extent), sit upright when she wants to, and so on, all without the ability to bend her front wrist or knee joints.

We kept her on her side for the first couple of days, but she got pretty tired of that.  She sleeps much more comfortably on her belly.

Man, and we thought her legs were looking long before!

She looks like she's on stilts, and not terribly happy about periodic spills and staggers, but has been getting around.  She still spends most of her time on cobalt's lap, though, resting and being petted, cuddled, and hand-fed.

More recently (2002-12-14) she has taken to an odd bipedal walk, whereby she rears up on her hind legs and RUNS forward most effectively! She sure looks horrible doing it, though.
