There is a rumor that these folks have an
MRAM (magnetic random-access memory) prototype device which has an
incredible write latency of 8ns and read latency of 3.4ns.
That would give it write and read cycle rates of 125MHz and 294MHz,
respectively! Definitely a milestone in this exciting new
memory technology (potentially as dense as DRAM, and perhaps
becoming as fast as SRAM) which is exploding into the computer
industry and promises to revolutionize computer technology from
servers and mainframes to home computers and embedded systems
(beepers, cellphones, digital cameras, etc). The significance
of extremely dense, extremely fast non-volatile memory can hardly
be overstated!
The link to MicroMem's web site is right here. I would encourage you to go there for breaking news and latest information.
I have also cached the MRAM-relevent bits of their web site here.
