The ciar.org web server is hosted in the home of TTK and Cobalt Ciar, on a 133MHz i586 with 32MB of EDO DRAM with a 20GB hard drive. It is also home to a few other web sites. As of this writing it is running the Slackware 7.1 distribution of the Linux operating system and v1.3.20 of the Apache web server. Its connection to the internet is a mere 384Kbps/128Kbps downstream/upstream ADSL line, so I hope you will understand my aversion to graphics-intensive web pages. Update 2001-08-28: I recently upgraded the web server's hard drive, and have begun the process of upgrading various aspects of the system's functionality. Once the upgrades are complete, the discussion board and surveys will soon be active. Since these web pages are a work in progress, I have disabled most of the other links off the main Unofficial Resources page. Please be patient. In the long term: I am very enthusiastic about FSP, but it is not the only project I am involved with. It also has to compete with my job and home life for attention. Realistically, I expect to be able to spend about one hour a day on FSP-related activities. Keep that in mind if progress seems a little slow. Consider, too, what you might be able to do to help things along, even if it's just researching relevant topics on the web and forwarding me some good material!
